Mutaekulwa Mutegeki is a professional civil engineer, with more than 40 years of working experience for both private and public sectors in Planning, design, construction supervision, operation and maintenance, management and regulation of water and sanitation service. He was the first managing Director of Tanga UWASA and turned around a utility from a government-run service-oriented to a commercially oriented utility. Thereafter, he was instrumental in establishing water and sanitation regulation in Tanzania whereby he was the first Director of  Water and Sanitation with the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) in Tanzania. For the past 8 years he has been engaged in consultancy works in the Eastern and Southern African Region in areas of establishment and review of existing  water and sanitation policies and regulatory frameworks, project management, training of both water and sanitation service providers and regulators.
