Anastas Mbawala is a professional electrical engineer, with more than 40 years of working experience for both the private and public sectors in the Electricity Supply Industry and renewable energy. After holding several key senior leadership positions at TANESCO the power supply utility, he joined the Water and Energy Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) as the founding members of management of the newly established utilities regulator, where he enabled development of various regulatory tools and instruments for the newly established regulator, notably in renewable energy and mini-grids. With knowledge and experience working together with energy utilities, regulators, governments and development partners, regionally and globally Anastas has the capacity to professional advisory services in energy management and regulation, while leading the energy and regulation portfolio at Leading Edge.
